Home Resource Kentucky Mathematics Achievement Fund Coaching Conversation Observation Rubric
The Kentucky Mathematics Achievement Fund (MAF) Coaching Conversation Observation Rubric was co-developed by REL Appalachia staff, our partners at the Kentucky Department of Education, and other mathematics instructional coaching experts in Kentucky. The rubric is designed to evaluate MAF coaches by measuring the quality of their coaching conversations with math teachers. The rubric is organized around four components of the MAF coaching model and training program: (1) Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS) for mathematics implementation, (2) effective mathematics teaching practices (EMTPs), (3) cognitive coaching, and (4) continuity in the coaching cycle.
